We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage(EYFS) which has four main principles.
A Unique Child - every child is a competent learner from birth who can be a resilient, capable, confident and self assured. All areas of development are equally important and children develop individually. The diversity of individuals is respected and valued. No child or family is discriminated against. Young children are vulnerable, they develop resilience when their physical and psychological wellbeing is protected and supported by the adults who care for them.
Positive Relationships - children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with Parents/Carers. Parents are children's first and foremost educators. When Parents and Practitioners work together, the results have a positive effect on children's learning and development. Practioners build relationships with their Key Group of children and support their emotional and learning needs.
Enabling Environments - the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning. Each child is unique, with unique abilities. Practitioners need to get to know each child in order to understand their interests and needs. A rich and varied learning environment provides a wide range of opportunities and supports exploration and learning, both indoors and outdoors. Working in partnership with other professionals, the family and the community supports children's development.
Learning and Development - children develop in different ways and at different rates, and all areas of learning and development are equally important, and are interconnected. Children's play reflects their wide range of knowledge and interests. Children learn best through play.
Our membership of the Pre-school Learning Alliance keeps us in constant touch with any developments within the child education and care sector. As well as publications the Pre-school Learning Alliance hold ongoing training courses which welcome both staff and Parents. We have enthusiastic, creative staff who ensure that all children attending our group have interesting, enjoyable play experience whilst under the best possible care.
